THE RANDY REPORT: New Music: Bryan Ruby ‘Come Back’

Out country music recording artist Bryan Ruby drops his soulful, acoustic release of “Come Back,” a musical dive into the hurt of heartbreak so deep there’s no second chances.

If you called me up right now I’d put down the phoneIf you book a one-way ticket, well, you’re on your ownIf you show up on my doorstep, that door is staying closedSo if you want to come back – don’t

Ruby’s rich baritone accompanied by the stripped-down, feelings-laid-bare arrangement come together for an imminently relatable take on the ending of a close relationship.

“I had to belt out the original version of this song really big—to match the rest of the record,” Ruby shares. “This song works big, but it also works when the band unplugs and the story becomes more intimate, raw, and vulnerable.”

“I wanted this acoustic version to feel like the day we wrote it,” he adds. “It sounds like a sad song, but when you dig into the story, you see this is really a ‘take-back-your-power’ moment after a relationship goes down the drain.”

From his excellent EP Lost & Found inspired by his own personal heartbreak.

Back in June, I covered his single, “Return A Ring,” a poignant reflection on the aftermath of a love lost.

No official video for “Come Back” yet, but here’s a bit of visual from Bryan via Instagram.
