MUSIC CITY MEMO: Sarahbeth Taite Releases Sentimental New EP “The Way We Started”

Latest Release Tells the Story of Heartbreak to Happily Ever After

Country Sweetheart Teams Up with 3x Grammy-Winning Hitmaker, Nathan Chapman, and ACM Song of the Year Nominee, Parker Welling, for New EP Out Now

NASHVILLE, Tenn., (Aug 23, 2024) – Sarahbeth Taite has released her sentimental EP “The Way We Started,” produced by 3x Grammy award-winner, Nathan Chapman (most notably known for his work with Taylor Swift), and co-written with ACM Song of the Year nominee, Parker Welling, and other standout hitmakers.

The EP’s emphasis track, “What If We Broke Up,” dives deep into the heartache of questioning a relationship with ‘the one.’ Co-written with Chapman and Welling, this song marks a bold new chapter in Sarahbeth’s musical journey, with unparalleled honesty and vulnerability. Thankfully, after less than an hour apart, the pair realized they couldn’t live without each other and are now happily married with their second child on the way (read more on People). In the song, Sarahbeth reflects on what would have happened if they had actually broken up and all they would have missed out on. She felt drawn to tell this story, as she jokes, “I knew I couldn’t be the only one who broke up with someone before marrying them!”

“This EP was written with some of my favorite cowriters during one of the sweetest times of my life,” said Taite. “Each song came together to fit like puzzle pieces on this project — each telling a different part of my story. I’m proud of every single line and forever grateful for my collaborators that helped me bring these songs to life!”

“The Way We Started” guides listeners on a chronological journey through pivotal moments in Sarahbeth’s life, culminating in her cherished home with Colby and their children. The EP opens with “Butterfly Boots,” a heartwarming ode to a young girl’s dreams and aspirations, reflecting both Sarahbeth’s own youthful hopes and the dreams she holds for her daughter Isla and the new baby girl. This project embodies the beauty of silver linings, showing how early heartbreaks (“First Rodeo”) and near breakups (“What If We Broke Up”) paved the way to a profound, lasting love. Through tracks like “Pretty Good Living” and “Diamond And A Baby,” Sarahbeth celebrates the everyday wonders of life, capturing the essence of living in the moment.

Taite paints a vivid picture of finding beauty in life’s small moments, whether it’s stretching a budget with “a little bit of month at the end of the money,” or dealing with “6am crying from the other room.” All of which contribute to a life she wouldn’t trade for anything.

Taite’s momentum and steadfast dedication to her craft is remarkable, having re-entered the music industry just three months after giving birth to her first child. Sarahbeth was unsure how the industry would perceive her new motherhood status, but has found that her love of family life is well-received. She has received support from People Magazine, Cowgirl Magazine, RFD-TV, iHeart Country and more. Now, she is set to launch her heartfelt, one-of-a-kind EP as she welcomes her second child into the world.
